Munich Oktoberfest!

Munich Oktoberfest!

Munich’s largest and most traditional breweries cordially invite you to join Oktoberfest!

Oktoberfest is known as the Largest Volksfest (People’s fair) in the world. It is also one of the most famous food and beer festival which annually brings together more than 6 million people from all over the world. Oktoberfest celebrations are conducted for 16 days from late September to the first weekend of October in the capital of the German’s state of Bavaria. This tradition started in 1810 with the celebration of the marriage of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig to the Saxon-Hildburghausen Princess Therese.

Do not miss a great opportunity to experience traditional Bavarian culture: drink excellent quality German beer, eat Bavarian pretzels with a diameter of 15 inches and listen to live brass bands playing traditional Bavarian and up-to-date music. You will be able to participate in favorite Oktoberfest games, such as Beer Steinand Barrel Races, and listen to the alpenhorn, a musical instrument that originated in the Apls. One of the most popular activities of the festival is a traditional costume parade which marches through the streets of Munich every first Oktoberfest Sunday.  Among the many attractions, the Bavarian beer or so called “liquid gold” is one of the most important thing at the Oktoberfest. You will be able to try different types of excellent quality beer: Paulaner, Spaten-Franziskaner, Löwenbräu, Hacker-Pschorr and Hofbräu. The majority of visitors follow old Oktoberfest traditions and dress up in traditional Bavarian clothes. For women it is dirndl – a dress with tight bodice and low-cut neckline, and for men it is lederhosen – leather breeches.

Families with kids can participate in amazing activities available at Family Fest Zone & Kinderhaus: special craft and art projects, pumpkin decorations, an authentic may Pole dance and face painting. Please note that Sunday is a Family Day with half-price admission, FREE airbrush tattoos for kids from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a lot of additional activities for children of all ages.

Oktoberfest is a great time for people of all ages to enjoy the autumn weather with family and friends! Multiple races, costume contests and great festival atmosphere will make your time in Munich unforgettable.
